With rumours of a new acquisition target in Cameroon,the company in focus was rumoured too be West African Minerals Corporation (LSE:WAFM).
Market Talk's insight:
Director buying this week of industrial stocks was subdued ahead of the June 30 results reporting season.
Miners and explorers accounted for about 70 per cent of the buyers' side of the ledger, with overall buying totalling $2.4 million.
The sellers' tally was $9.7 million, with top sellers from Primary Health Care (Henry Bateman), Rubik Financial (Andrew Moffat) and Aurizon Holdings (Lance Hockridge) accounting for 66 per cent of the total.
Among industrial buyers, Geraldine McBride - who was appointed to the National Australia Bank board in March - opened her account and put about $65,000 into the stock.
Also buying for the first time was Wal King, deputy chairman of Sundance Resources, a company with big plans for an iron ore project straddling the Cameroon and Congo border in Africa. Five of the eight-member board have bought shares in recent weeks, with Mr King spending the most at $99,600.
With rumours of a new acquisition target in Cameroon,the company in focus was rumoured too be West African Minerals Corporation (LSE:WAFM).
The company has been making bullish predictions for the project at various investor presentations, including a return rate of 21 per cent accompanied by ''robust cash flows''.
The stock closed on Friday at 8.7¢, which values the group at $271 million.
