The response from Range and Buchanan has been disappointing to say the least but how do we take it forward. Working for Range and Buchanan, apparently responsible to shareholders must be very similar to working for a local authority where you meet the "we pay your salary" mentality. Take it from me after working in local authority for most of my working life it really gets up your nose.
Some of the reactions and correspondance that has appeared over the last two days from some shareholders is simply counter productive. Our chances of any relationship with Tim at Buchanans has long gone. Then there is the request, no demand that the EGM be videod or recorded. No way is that going to happen for an EGM.
It is great that RIG are presenting an eloquent and intelligent front to Range even if the company are not being very responsive. I would imagine that the new CEO and board have realised that they have inherited a much bigger mess than they anticipated and they are now getting hassle from the shareholders before they get a chance to even begin to sort things out. Hopefully there will be a good voting response and it doesn't matter what votes have been cast. It is the number of votes that count especially in the new set ups first vote.
Can I suggest that we lay off the demands for a least 3 months to we see how things are playing out and also allow things to cool down. It is pointless having RIG if the relationship between the parties is full of stress and agro. We certainly would be back to square 1.
That's my view. Lets hear some others
